What is this study about?
EurekaFacts, on behalf of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), is conducting a usability study to get feedback from Metro riders on WMATA’s SmarTrip® app. WMATA would like hear feedback from of a variety Metro riders with and without SmarTrip® accounts, so that they can address any issues or concerns to improve the payment system.EurekaFacts, on behalf of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), is conducting a usability study to get feedback from Metro riders on WMATA’s SmarTrip® app. WMATA would like hear feedback from of a variety Metro riders with and without SmarTrip® accounts, so that they can address any issues or concerns to improve the payment system.
What will happen during the interview?
Participants will first be informed of the purpose of the study, what to expect during the session, and reminded that the study is voluntary. During introductions, the interviewer will also describe the think aloud method and ask participants to think out loud as they work through the tasks.
Where will the interview take place?
The session will take place at 51 monroe street, PE 2, Rockville, MD, 20850.
How long will the session last and when will it take place?
The session will last no more than 60 minutes. Sessions can be scheduled on a date and time of your convenience.
Will information be kept private and confidential?
All responses are kept completely confidential. At no time will any identifiable information be linked to any of your answers. All information collected through our research process is grouped and reported anonymously. Recordings will be destroyed at the conclusion of the study.
What are the incentives for participating?
After successful completion, participants will receive a $75 gift card from a major credit card company. In addition, participants will be reimbursed $17 for using their smartphones to buy a virtual SmarTrip® card and an unlimited ride pass. This virtual card will be used for the purposes of the study.
Can participation end early?
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. Participants have the right to refuse to answer questions. Participants may choose to withdraw from this study at any time but may forfeit some or all of their incentive payment depending on how early they withdraw.
