Maryland Health Insurance Study

EurekaFacts LLC, a Maryland-based market research firm, is carrying out an important study for the state of Maryland. We are looking for residents of Maryland to participate a single remote or in-person confidential interview session to learn about their experience with healthcare and health insurance.  

Participants will receive $75 for their time, and the interview will last up to 60 minutes.  

Participation in this interview session is voluntary, and all responses will remain confidential. Your participation will have no impact on any of the benefits you may receive. Your input will be used to better inform Maryland residents about healthcare options.

1. What is this study about?
We are performing a study on behalf of the state of Maryland to learn about your experience with healthcare. Maryland residents who are interested in learning more about healthcare, or who may not currently have healthcare are being asked to come and participate in a brief interview session. Our goal is to identify effective messages and approaches to increase health insurance enrollment in the state.

2. Where will the interview take place?
The session will be held online virtually using Zoom or in-person at either our Rockville, MD office or a convenient public location near you at a date and time of your choosing. This will be based on your access to technology and your physical location. The link to the session will be provided after you confirm your participation, or we will work with you to determine a physical location. 

3. What is the duration of this study?
We will be conducting interviews from July 9th to August 8th. 

4. Who is sponsoring the interviews?
We are conducting these interviews on behalf of the state of Maryland.  

5. What will happen to my responses?
Your answers will be combined with other responses for research purposes. Individual responses will not be linked to your name in anyway. 

6. Is there an incentive for participating?
Yes. All respondents who qualify and complete the interview will receive a $75 e-gift card (from a major credit card company). Please allow 7-10 business days for processing the e-gift card.   

7. I do not have health insurance. Am I still eligible to participate?
Yes. We very interested in hearing from you, even if you do not have health insurance. 

8. How long will the interview last?
The interview will last no more than 60 minutes. 

9. Will I lose my health care for participating?
No. The state of Maryland will not know your responses. Your responses are anonymous, and will not be attached to any identifiable information (such as name or phone number). Your participation will have no impact on any of the benefits you receive. 

10. Will my answers be kept private?
Yes. All answers are kept completely confidential. You will be assigned a unique identifier (ID), and at no time will any personally identifiable information be linked to any of your responses. All information provided by participants will be used only for research purposes and will not be disclosed, or used, in identifiable form for any other purpose except as required by law (20 U.S.C. §9573 and 6 U.S.C. §151). All sessions will be recorded and used solely for analysis purposes; no identifying information will be shared in our report. 

11. What are the possible risks of being in the study?
There are no known risks to participating in this voluntary study. 

12. Can I choose to end my participation at any time?
Participation in these interviews is completely voluntary. You have the right to refuse to answer any questions and you may elect to withdraw your participation at any time or leave the interview early if you wish. If you choose to leave early, you may forfeit some or all of the incentive offered for participation.
