Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)  

1. What is this study about?

On behalf of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, EurekaFacts, a social science and market research firm, is conducting interviews with healthcare providers, health/health equity decision makers, and health equity community leaders/influencers to discuss health equity. Participants will be asked to discuss their perceptions of equity and health equity in their professional communities and the types of messaging they are currently using to help inform best practices for messaging that help neutralize opposition to the messages. This information will be incorporated in a Messaging Best Practices report.

 2. Where will the interview take place?

The interview will be held online using Microsoft Teams at the date and time of your choosing. The link to the interview will be provided after you have been confirmed for participation.

 3. What will happen during the interview?

During the interview, participants will discuss their understanding of equity and health equity. They will also respond to questions from a EurekaFacts interviewer on the topic of health equity, such as best messaging practices and barriers to health equity messaging and practice. In addition, participants are asked to gather imagery (i.e., GIFs, infographics, brochures) they have used in their organization or community to discuss health equity.

 4. Will information be kept private?

Yes. Each participant will be assigned a unique identifier (ID), and their name will not be linked to their answers. All the information provided by participants may be used only for statistical purposes and may not be disclosed, or used, in identifiable form for any other purpose except as required by law (20 U.S.C. §9573 and 6 U.S.C. §151). All interviews will be recorded and used solely for analysis purposes; no identifying information will be shared in our report.

 5. How long will the interview last?

Interviews will last no longer than 60 minutes.

 6. Is there an incentive for participating?

Yes. After the interview, participants will receive a $250 e-gift card from a major credit card company. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing the e-gift card.

 7. What are the possible risks of being in the study?

There are no known risks to participating in this voluntary study.

 9. Can participation end early?

Participation in this study is completely voluntary. The participant has the right to refuse to answer any particular questions. The participant may elect to withdraw from this study at any time and can leave the interview early if they wish. However, if the participant leaves early, they may forfeit part of their incentive.
