Jonathan Steinberg Joins EurekaFacts as Director of Research and Analytics

Rockville, MD, June 1, 2022 – Jonathan Steinberg has been appointed Director of Research and Analytics at EurekaFacts. As a member of the senior leadership team, he will help to influence the growth of the company and, together with his team, build and maintain a healthy research and analytics practice.

“With an advanced degree in statistics, Jonathan has more than 20 years of research experience, serving both government and private sector clients,” says EurekaFacts CEO Jorge Restrepo. “We are thrilled to have someone with such a deep analytical skillset and subject matter expertise in education and consumer research join our leadership team.”

Steinberg spent 18 years at Educational Testing Service (ETS) in various research data analyst roles, most recently serving as a manager of data analysis and computational research. His work was concentrated in multiple areas, including initiatives with the Praxis® teacher licensure program and the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). He helped to develop and validate new basic skills and comprehension assessments in reading, as part of the Reading for Understanding grant, funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES). He was the lead data analyst for work funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and with IES related to collaborative problem-solving assessment. Jonathan also served as manager of an internal research project data repository and coordinated the process for data requests made by external researchers. Prior to working at ETS, he spent five years at VML&R (formerly Young & Rubicam Advertising) in consumer research.

Jonathan has contributed to many published articles, educational research, and technical conference presentations, and is an active in educational research organizations. He is president-elect of the Northeastern Educational Research Association (NERA), where he has previously served as a conference co-chair and held other committee chair positions. In addition, he is active with the American Educational Research Association (AERA), specifically Division D focusing on statistical theory, measurement, and quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodologies as applied to educational research.

Jonathan earned his B.A. in Statistics from the University of Rochester in 1999 and his M.A. in Statistics from Columbia University in 2003.
