ROCKVILLE, MD – During the 16th-anniversary celebration at the Maryland Hispanic Business Conference, EurekaFacts was awarded the “Negocio del Año/Business of the Year” at the Premios Épico awards luncheon held on September 4, 2018, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
“I’m honored to receive this award recognizing ‘in unity, there is strength’ and our extensive work in the Hispanic business community,” shared CEO Jorge Restrepo who accepted the award on behalf of EurekaFacts at the Maryland Hispanic Business Conference. “It reflects our growth and the many accomplishments we’ve had as a team. A big thank you to our staff, clients, and community partners. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
The Maryland Hispanic Business Conference was well-attended by 600 attendees, including Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, US Senator Chris Van Hollen, Montgomery County Council members, a delegation of visiting business owners from Colombia, and leaders from Johns Hopkins, BGE, WSSC, Wells Fargo, State agencies, and many other organizations.
The Negocio del Año/Business of the Year is awarded to an innovative, Maryland-based business that has shown outstanding commitment in tapping new growth areas, spurring economic development, creating jobs, showcasing leadership, and giving back to the community. It is one of three awards given out at the Premios Épicos awards luncheon celebrating the achievements of successful entrepreneurs making a difference in our robust Hispanic community.
Maryland is home to more than 40,000 Hispanic businesses – the fastest-growing segment of the region’s business community. Latino entrepreneurs are fueling our nation’s economic growth – contributing over $661 billion nationally and growing in total numbers 15 times the average rate. Hispanic consumers spend over $1.7 trillion on retail and consumer packaged goods annually, and it is expected to rise as Latinos reach an estimated 28.6% of the US population by 2060.
