Frequently Asked Questions
I have already signed up to Test the Test. Is this the same field test?
Yes, it is the same test. EurekaFacts wants to make sure that we have a nationally representative pool of test takers to help test the test. The more people we can get to complete the assessment from different demographics and backgrounds, the better the test will be able to match individuals with their ideal professions.
When does the field test close?
In order to make sure that the assessment results are usable, EurekaFacts has been contracted by Educational Testing Service (ETS) to recruit participants from certain demographics. The field test will close on different dates for different people, depending on the demographic information you provide. For example, once we have enough people who are “employed full time”, then the field test will be closed to new people in this demographic. To ensure that you can test the test, we encourage you to take the field test as early as you can.
What is this assessment field test?
The assessment asks questions about your cognitive, academic, personality and interpersonal abilities. EurekaFacts has been contracted by Educational Testing Service (ETS) to recruit participants. ETS will use the results of the assessment to create a new career services test that will help college students find professions matching their knowledge, aptitude and skill set.
Can my friends also take this assessment field test?
Yes, of course! In order to make sure that the assessment results are usable, EurekaFacts is recruiting participants from certain demographics. Ask your friends to complete the confidential questions at http://eurekafacts.com/test-the-test-f.html.
Is the assessment confidential?
Yes, the assessment field test is completely confidential. EurekaFacts will only use contact information to mail an assessment login postcard and to mail $25, but that information is stored separately from the field test results, keeping personal information strictly anonymous.
When do I take the assessment?
The assessment will remain open until we have reached capacity of qualified test takers. You may take the assessment at any time, night or day. The assessment takes approximately 2 ½ hours. It is not necessary to complete it all in one sitting. You can do it in 4 sections with each part taking 30-40 minutes.
Where do I take the assessment?
The assessment can be completed on any computer with these requirements (most computers meet this!):
How do I get started?
1. Check your email. You will find a message from EurekaFacts (www.eurekafacts.com), the independent research company that is recruiting participants for this assessment. The email will describe what the assessment will be like.
2. Check your text messages. You will receive a text message from EurekaFacts with your unique ID and login information. Use this to access and complete the assessment.
How do I get paid my $25?
Once you complete the entire field test, an independent test maker must review all the test results. Successful test takers take the test seriously, take their time going through all the test questions, and correctly answer questions placed in the test to see if they are paying attention. The independent review process takes about a week. Once EurekaFacts is notified as to who the successful test takers are, we will send a $25 check to the same mailing address used to send your field test login postcard. Checks are mailed approximately one month after you complete the field test.
How do I get the assessment results?
You are participating in the field test of an assessment that is currently being developed. Participants in this assessment field test will NOT receive individual assessment results. In appreciation of your time, we will provide you a $25 “thank you” upon completion of the entire assessment field test.
