EurekaFacts Millennial Panel Survey: Vaping

Consistent with the findings of other recent research, results show use of e-cigarettes, i.e., "vaping," is prevalent among millennials. This study also showed that more millennials have tried vaping than cigarettes, and more millennials vape regularly than smoke cigarettes. Among the current cigarette smokers, most report vaping regularly as well. Millennials think that vaping is safer than smoking cigarettes, but when considered alone most do not think that vaping is safe. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE!

EurekaFacts establishes its own Internal Review Board

EurekaFacts has established its own Internal Review Board and completed registration with the US Department of Health and Human Services. The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), US Department of Health and Human Services reviewed and approved the EurekaFacts Internal Review Board registration. The newly created IRB will support EurekaFacts research projects and will also be available for other researchers/research firms in conducting independent reviews of their research protocols.

Internal Review Boards are important to the protection of the rights, welfare, and wellbeing of subjects involved in. The EurekaFacts IRB is a committee, chaired by Dr. Bohdana Sherehiy, is formally designated to approve, monitor, and review behavioral research. By establishing its own committee, EurekaFacts seeks to leverage on its internal expertise in reviewing research protocols to ensure protection of research participants. The IRB is made of several scientist and non-scientist members and include both individuals who are internal as well as external to the organization. In order to maintain an independent stance on research protocol reviews, the IRB also has several alternate members who are called upon to substitute members when and if a primary member is participating or directing a given research effort. The EurekaFacts review board includes members who are experts in psychology, human behavior, communications, research methods, statistics and data collection.

The establishment and registration of this IRB is one more step taken by EurekaFacts to improve its emphasis on quality research and ensure that the rights and wellbeing of its research participants are always protected. This registration is listed on the OHRP website at Funding agencies use this website to verify that an institutional review board (IRB) has an active registration.
