Eurekafacts, a local research firm in Rockville is conducting research for the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), an agency under the U.S. Department of Education. NCES is developing new and innovative test items to be included in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). NCES needs feedback from current 8th and “rising” eighth graders (e.g. students currently finishing the 7th grade) students to ensure that test questions administered to future 8th graders throughout the U.S. are clear and understandable.
The research interviews last approximately 90 minutes, and will be conducted over the 2011 summer months in our offices in downtown Rockville. Appointments are available after-school, daytime, evenings and weekends. All data from student participants is collected for statistical purposes only and is kept strictly private and confidential. At the completion of the student’s interview, both student and their parent/guardian will each receive a $25 cash gift card in appreciation for the student’s participation. EurekaFacts named Bohdana Sherehiy, Ph.D. as Human Factors Research Manager. The addition of Sherehiy to the company team represents continued and consistent growth of its user research services. Charged with developing the human factors research practice and maximizing use of the usability research center, Sherehiy will apply her extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative research and more specifically her specialization in usability, user-centered design, and user research. Prior to joining EurekaFacts, Sherehiy gained valuable usability and human factors experience at Ergologic, Inc, and honed her research design and management skills at the Center for Industrial Ergonomics at the University of Louisville.
