Demographic Data
Consumer Expenditure
Consumer spending estimates provide the data to measure local demand for goods and services. The data is based on estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Surveys (CEX), the continuing surveys Diary Survey for daily purchases and a Quarterly Interview Survey for general purchases.
Market Potential
Market potential data measures the likely demand for a product or service in a county, zip code, or other geographic trade area. The database projects the expected number of consumers and provides Market Potential Indices (MPI). An MPI compares the demand for a specific product or service in a trade area to the demand for that product or service nationally.
