Conducting Research with young Physicians

October 16th, 2009

There is mounting evidence of shortages of adequate number of physicians in many highly specialized medical fields. To better understand the interests, challenges and career-related intentions of young physicians practicing within a highly specialized medical field, Eureka facts recently completed a study for a major national medical association.

Through a series of In-depth interviews and online surveys with four key audiences segments, including fellows, foreign medical graduates, women, and young practitioners, Eureka Facts provided the association with an in-depth profile of the practice patterns of their youngest membership segment. The study examined issues such as their intentions to stay in the field, expectations regarding compensation and how work-life issues impact young practitioners’ current and future career-related decisions.

Insights on these and other key professional characteristics shared by physicians starting their careers in this highly specialized field provided the association with actionable insights on how to better serve this member group’s current and future professional needs.

Geomapping Supports Strategic Growth Plans for Professional Society

August 2nd, 2009

Supporting the developent of a nonprofit’s growth strategic plan, EurekaFacts conducted geomarketing analysis that identifies high-potential target geographies for a growing international professional society. In the process, EurekaFacts combined survey data, demographic information and the society’s transactional data in order to identify patterns, presence, product mix by geography throughout the globe. The dual model uses high-precision datamodeling in the United States where the organization has strongest presence, as well as city and country level analysis for key areas including the EU and the Asia-Pacific region.

Assisting in strategic market planning by world geography became an easier and less risky endeavor when EurekaFacts prepared thematic maps that transform the society’s database into a powerful decision-making tool. The interactive map outputs summary charts, statistics, and tables embedded in zoomable maps for each geography. Among the sets of used measures are market presence, growth trends, and membership. Also examined were summary profiles of service usage by country, grouping publication purchases, certification preparation registration, event attendance, online self-paced education registration and membership. These maps inform intelligently targeted offers that fit the society’s usage patterns in each geography and allow for fact-based selection of host cities for events, workshops.

EurekaFacts uses its expertise in quantitative and geo-analytic methods to support the growing need of nonprofit organizations to better understand the global environment in which they operate. Tools such as the geomapping of customer data helps formulate global strategy that can be localized to the specific conditions of each market.
